Educational Activities:

VACREF functions as the intermediary between the VA and non-VA education sponsors and administers the donated funds to ensure that all VA regulations, which may be unknown to the sponsors, are adhered to. VACREF will assist investigators in negotiating the contracts with sponsors and third party vendors (i.e. facility or equipment rentals, catering services, travel etc.) For more information please contact VACREF’s office at 203-932-5711 X-5121.

Recent projects have included a partnership with the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network for a conference on Palliative Care in Hepatocellular Carcinoma and End-Stage Liver Disease. The goal of this conference was to educate primary and specialty care providers, social workers and psychologists in an effort to optimize patient care, enhance knowledge and foster collaboration.
